If I am understanding you correctly, (and I may not be)…I would do all the stitch in a row slanted to the left only. And then when I return to the extremity of the row, I would do all the stitches that angle the other way going back towards the happening of the row that angle the paired way. (to complete the X). I would not stitch each X, i at a time. I would also try to exercise the same hole when making the X’s and that way they would be touching. I desired I have made some consciousness.
